Log Panel
General information
The Log panel is located in the lower-right part of the main Network Eagle window. This panel is used to display log messages generated by the application. You can enable logging to a file on the disk. To get help on configuring logging to a file, see help on Options\Logging.
You can start/stop logging (and to a file as well) by selecting the Enable/Disable menu item in the Tools menu.
By right-clicking inside the log panel, you can access its popup menu with commands for controlling the Log panel. You can copy the selected log message, clear the log, enable/disable it or hide the Log panel away from the screen. To make this panel visible again, select the Information item from the View menu.
Also, you can use this popup menu to access the Find function. If you want to find something in the log, select this item from the popup menu. The standard find dialog box will appear. You can search forward and backward from the current cursor position in the Log panel, make your search case-sensitive and case-insensitive and so on.
Messages are always logged in case of a check failure/backup and the errors why check is failed are also always logged. As to messages from the alerting subsystem (running alerts, error messages from alerts, etc.), you can disable them in the Options\Logging dialog box.
Statistics Panel
General information
The Statistics panel is located in the lower-right part of the main Network Eagle window. This panel is used to display statistical information for the currently selected group. This statistical information is collected since the application is started and is not stored in any permanent file.
By right-clicking inside the statistics panel, you can access its popup menu with commands for controlling this panel. You can copy the selected statistical entries, reset the selected statistics or hide the Statistical panel away from the screen. To make this panel visible again, select the Information item from the View menu.
Statistical fields
There are several types of statistical data collected for each check. Note that the statistics are not stored in a file. The application starts collecting the information when you start the application and resets it when you restart Network Eagle Monitor. The following information is collected and displayed in the Statistics panel:
- Started At - Time when the check was started.
- Last Fail At - Time when the check was failed last time.
- Last Backup At - Time when the check was in the backup situation last time.
- Max. Fail Time - The maximum interval the check was in the failed state.
- Min. Fail Time - The minimum interval the check was in the failed state.
- Fail Count - The number of failed check attempts.
- Backup Count - The number of successful check attempts.
- Total Fail Time - The total amount of time the checked object was in the failed state.
- Total Backup Time - The yotal amount of time the checked object was in the success state.
Properties Panel
General information
The Properties panel is located in the lower-right part of the main Network Eagle window. This panel is used to display the properties of the currently selected check.
By right-clicking inside the Properties panel, you can access its popup menu with commands for controlling this panel. You can copy the selected entries or hide the Properties panel away from the screen. To make this panel visible again, select the Information item from the View menu.
Properties fields
The following information is displayed in the Properties panel:
- Name - the name of the property.
- Value - the value of the property.
