Connecting

Whenever a connect button is clicked the following dialog will appear:

FTP Connection Manager

Using the drop down list select a connection. You can add, edit or delete any connections in the list with the appropriate buttons. With the new or edit buttons the following dialog will appear:

Edit FTP Connection Details

  • name - a descriptive name of your choosing for this connection.
  • Server Add. - the address of your FTP server.
  • User Name - the name you use to access the FTP server.
  • Password - the password you use to access the FTP server.
  • Email - this is only required for use with an anonymous FTP server.

All these details should have been provided for you by the administrators of the FTP server.

Advanced

There is now an Advanced button on the "Edit FTP Connection Details" dialog which allows some additional connection options that are not normally required and can be left at their default settings.

Specify a port number for your connection. Use 0 to not specify a port number and take the default, which should work fine for most connections.

Specify Active or Passive mode for your connection - the default is Passive.
